Science Center Kalimpong is one of the most exciting and educational additions to the tourism landscape of Kalimpong — a Himalayan hill town with a unique blend of nature, culture, and now, science. Established in 2008 under the Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council (DGHC), the Science Center sits at an altitude of 5,590 feet on a sprawling 7-acre hilltop campus, less than a kilometre from Deolo Hills — the highest point in Kalimpong — and about 9 km from the town centre.
About Science Center, Kalimpong
Kalimpong is the largest of the four sub-divisions of the Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council and lies between the plains of the Dooars and the Darjeeling-Sikkim Himalayas, 50 km from Darjeeling and 65 km from Siliguri. The Science Center was developed to bring the world of science closer to the children and youth of this mountain region, combining education with adventure in a unique hilltop setting.

What to See and Do at the Science Center
The Science Center features an engaging array of scientific objects, exhibits, and live working models that explain various aspects of science in an interactive and accessible way. The lives and contributions of celebrated scientists are also exhibited here, making it an inspiring educational experience.
