Several routes sre there to reach Bijanbari but the original route is via Ghoom, the road is very scenic with winding turns, beautiful mountain streams, waterfalls, the most famous is Hima falls, there is a beautiful small bridge over the stream which orginates from the waterfall and some famous beautiful tea gardens like Marybong, Rishihaat and Chongthong. On the way there is also a steep 50 ft rock known as Biswambhar Rock. There is also a view point on the way from where you can witness the panoramic view of Darjeeling town with the Kanchenjunga range of mountains and some parts of Sikkim in the background.

Chota Rangeet river is one of the prime attraction of Bijanbari flowing amidst the valley adding to the beauty of it. There are several picnic spots on the bank of the river. Some area around the river has fruit orchards like apple, orange and pineapples beside there are some agricultural lands where rice, potatoes, tomatoes and cabbages are cultivated.
Pulbazar
Pulbazar is a small place adjacent to Bijanbari town, this is where farmer sells their vegetables and trade farm animals in a small village market also known as ‘haat’, Pulbazar haat is one of the oldest market of Darjeeling district. There is also a sericulture farm about 2 kms from Pulbazar.
The other villages worth visiting are Kainjalay, Lodhoma, Rimbik, Relling, Kolbong, Jhepi. Ramam hydel project is 17Kms away from Bijanbari.
How to reach
There are two alternative roads to reach Bijanbari, one via Ghoom and other via Jamuni bridge. The nearest airport is Bagdogra Airport, approximately 90 kilometers away, while the nearest railway station is New Jalpaiguri. From these points, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to Bijanbari.
